VIDEO: Phoenix and Passion Pit pick their favorites of the '00s

It is still 2009 for a few weeks, and so WFNX continues in its quest to get some thoughts on the best music of this decade from every band who passes through town, much like they did with Metric and Sonic Youth. And with Miracle on Tremont Street - possibly the biggest WFNX show since, what, Green Day at the Hatch Shell? - happening last week, they had a golden opportunity to speak to two bands who've had huge years. Above, two members of PHOENIX, who, it should be noted, have recorded a few serious contenders to the title on their own, discuss their top picks, including D'Angelo's 2000 album Voodoo, Jose Gonzalez's Veneer, and the ever-popular Is This It? Below, Michael and Nate from PASSION PIT share their favorites. They cheat a little by combining Kid A and Amnesiac, but we'll allow it; they also take Yankee Hotel Foxtrot and Burial's outstanding Untrue.
