Just announced: Mission of Burma bands battle; Eula prevails

Aging Boston
post-punkers Mission of Burma are at
it again, still going strong after their 2002 revival with their latest album, The Sound The Speed The Light, which drops October 6. As we previously reported, they'll be playing a
(free!) show at MIT this Sunday, an event for which eager local bands battled
it out by a series of displays of physical strength uploading videos of
themselves rocking out to Mission of Burma's website to score a gig opening
for the band. The "Battle for Burma" (catchy, eh?) winners, Eula, are a New Haven trio that sound like "attic
ghost women drifting around flocks of parakeets with feet stuck in drying
rubber." (No, really, check their MySpace.) Mission of Burma and Eula
will be joined by Boston's
own Big Bear, they of pleasingly ear-shattering
notoriety.
