Though D-Tension is a WFNX DJ, and Akrobatik is the most recent Best Music Poll winner for Best Local Rap Act, this fusion was not a deliberate Phoenix-prescribed arrangement. As it turns out, D is just stuck between his drug-addled 80s days and the Boston rap scene on which he's been an integral player for a damn decade now. 

I suspect that the timing of this project - which blends Ak's Absolute Value with Van Halen beats - is perfect, as the planet is just now getting over the quasi-genius of the Grey Album, and steering away from the wake of tens of thousands of horrendous, never-meant-to-be mash-ups that said Danger Mouse effort inspired.

That said - we suggest you download this immediately - whether or not you've already heard Absolute Value, which was easily one of the best hip-hop discs of 2008. If you're a b-boy looking to sex ironic throwback coke whores - or vice-versa - then this is your weapon. Use it wisely.
