Frank Black to play solo at Wellfleet Beachcomber

With Reid Paley, no less. Reid being credited as co-writer on four songs off Black's new Fast Man Raider Man discs. As far as we can tell, this is Frank's only area date that is not with the Foo Fighters at the Wang Center (which was, of course, really fucking expensive and is now sold out, to boot.) Also, for what it's worth, there is not a better place to see a rock show than the Wellfleet Beachcomber on a summer evening. We recommend going early; making repeated trips from the bar, down the dunes, into the ocean, and back; staying late; and, after closing, staying for drunken after-hours bonfires on the beach. When we were much younger, and went there to see bands like Come and Speedball Baby and Helium and Letters to Cleo, the Beachomber seemed a magical place, where you could drink for days and end up diving into the surf at 3 am with a naked Kay Hanley.

BUY: Tickets for Frank Black and Reid Paley, August 18 at the Beachcomber, onsale now.
