How can you state with a straight face that charter schools have not outperformed traditional schools? Studies can be made to show whatever is needed to make an argument. Parents know what is best for their children and time and again charter schools are the choice that parents make for their children. This debate is simply about whether parents will be given a choice on what is best for their children, or whether we will continue to protect the union controlled public education system from competition.

David, I am contacting you as someone who works at the polls and has worked with the True the Vote volunteers personally. I find them to be a godsend. They are non-partisan, fully versed in the Election Law and committed to ensuring free and fair elections. True, in 2010 their Harris County Texas group was accused of voter intimidation. But why didn't you tell the entire truth to your readers? Each of these accusations was investigated by Harris County officials and the accusations were found to be baseless. I will add that their Voter Roll review uncovered a group named Houston Votes submitting thousands of improper voter registrations. County officials took action against Houston Votes following their further investigation. This group deserves your praise not your half-truths.

Gee, who'd of thunk it? The PUC (a supposedly independent, adjudicative body) is in danger of being over-rulled by a legislative body (potentially subservient to lobbyists for campaign donations)to determine the best interests of the rate-paying public. Amazing cronyism.

'It is, plainly, a rigging of the process -' These are your words and clearly they are true. Saying that if you "believe in a green economy, the right thing to do". Well, I suggest you do a little more research and lots more thinking. Wind energy is the least "green" of the renewable energies. It needs fossil fuel backup all the time. We are VERY dependent on all our electronics these days and when the wind isn't blowing---something has to take over. Denmark has not retired a single fossil fuel plant and has the highest energy costs in the EU. We are about to turn a small number of people into miillionaires, a few more into ten and hundred millionaires with this project and at the expense of the every day rate payer in Rhode Island and the ordinary tax payer in this country. The Financial predators win again by manipulating our politicians. The PUC did the right thing--they had the courage to turn down a project that was $300 million to $500 million over market to the RI ratepayers. It is not alright that the politicians can "rig" the process. This is America. We need to guard our freedom and support the institutions that provide oversight and regulation in the partisan political arena.

So, let me get this straight: you're really willing to turn a blind eye to obvious corruption just because the net outcome seems positive? I'm all for this wind farm, but it seems sad to me that in our obsessive effort to "beat Massachusetts at something", we'll willingly stage a public coup of the PUC, like it's no big thing.

Step One: Pick up an encyclopedia.

Step Two: Look up the term 'socialism.'

Step Three: Make sure you have a good understanding of what that word actually means.

Then we can have a meaningful debate. Though your comments about an 'anti-family, pro-homosexual agenda' speak loudly about the depths of your ignorance. If the laws of a state do not safeguard the basic human rights of each citizen, those laws need to be changed -- hence social justice.

Progressive is the code word for "Socialist" it has been made up to soften what these people really are all about. They want government to control our lives. Their entire purpose is to chip away at the moral foundation of our state and make hazy the difference between what is right and what is wrong.

Rep. Joanne Giannini is far from perfect but she stands tall on moral issues and issues that impact her constituents. Rep. Giannini's opponent is a carpet bagger planted by the Socialist to further their immoral agenda.

Ms. Cimini's initial letter to voters talked more about her family history more than it did about issues, obviously she is going to avoid an issues debate. Her intention was not highlight her progressive homosexual anti-family message. She briefly noted at the end of her letter through a play on words "laws of our state should be based on the underlying principles of social justice" I thought the laws where to created based on our constitution. Ms. Cimini’s is a plant with an anti-family pro homosexual agenda. She has no chance of unseating Rep. Joanne Giannini.

What a hypocrite - he's supported NOTHING but democrats, given then thousands, and now he's chumming around with the felon and he's an independent? Everyone should remember that Joe has not WON an election since 1986, and has sat in his office and the Capital Grille, has not engaged with the community since the Mayor smoked him by 20 pts 8 yrs ago. He's a perennial loser.

If the tea-partiers really were what their citics say they are it would be obvious, there would be thousands of instances of recorded proof to back them up. The fact that it's not obvious proves that they (the critics) are wrong. They are simply who they say they are.
