This morning brought a third Democratic poll giving Congressman David Cicilline a significant lead on Republican Brendan Doherty.
This one, from Cicilline's pollster the Feldman Group, gives the incumbent a 46-36 lead on his GOP challenger, with 7 percent backing independent candidate David Vogel.
Doherty has declined to release his own internal polling. But campaign manager Ian Prior tells me that, in a poll conducted last Wednesday and Thursday, Doherty is up on Cicilline within the margin of error in the poll. That margin, he says, is four points.
After testing messages on the two candidates, he says, Doherty's lead goes up to 9.
I'll have more analysis of the dueling polls - and what they say about the campaign ahead - later today.
