Signs of a real divide in the Lynch family.
Just hours after Attorney General Patrick Lynch all-but-declared for governor and strongly suggested that his brother William J. Lynch would not attempt to follow him into the AG's chair, William Lynch's spokesman is pushing back.
"He has not floated his name lightly in any way," said the spokesman, Bill Fischer, referring to William Lynch's recent announcement that he was weighing a run for AG.
"He will make a decision on his own timeline, which is set for the end of the summer," Fischer said.
Any interpretation of Patrick Lynch's comments? "You'll have to ask Patrick and his organization."
Not for Nothing has tried. No response yet.
Some armchair analysts have suggested that Patrick Lynch's campaign for governor could suffer with two Lynchs on the ticket. I wasn't convinced - Rhode Islanders seem to like political dynasties. But now, with talk of a rift, it seems that two Lynchs on one ballot could be trouble.
