Providence, RI –At its scheduled annual meeting on Saturday, January 30, 2009, the Rhode Island Latino Political Action Committee (RILPAC) elected its 2009-2011 Board of Directors. RILPAC has been very effective in influencing the local political process, by endorsing candidates, mobilizing the Latino voters to get out and vote in support of its endorsed candidates to ensure their victory.
After votes were tallied, the new Executive Board of Directors is composed as follows:
Doris M. De Los Santos, President
Ysa Luna, Vice President
Carmen Diaz-Jusino, Secretary
Belkiss Luna-Suazo, Treasurer
Yasmin Rincon, Executive Assistant
Also elected to the Board of Directors were: Sandy Riojas, Obed Papp, Nery Garcia, Sabina Matos, Domingo Morel and Ivette Luna.
In her acceptance speech, Mrs. De Los Santos thanked her predecessor Sabina Matos for her work as President and acknowledged the hard work of RILPAC's members in ensuring that Latinos have a strong political presence in Rhode Island.
