O'Neill makes the rounds
As part of the rush of media interest following his upset of Senate President Joseph A. Montalbano, state Senator-elect Edward O'Neill, independent of Lincoln, appears this week on Newsmakers and on WJAR-TV's 10 News Conference.
O'Neill told us this morning that he doesn't think he would have won had he run as a Republican. He says talks are continuing concerning which legislators with whom he will caucus.
A self-described fiscal conservative, O'Neill told me off-camera that he has tended to vote the candidate, not the party, in past elections.
