RI GOP launches combined assault on Smith Hill

Coverage in yesterday's ProJo reaffirmed the obvious: that Jon Scott and Mark Zaccaria are running woefully underfunded longshot battles, respectively, against Patrick Kennedy and Jim Langevin.

Yet that won't stop the local GOP from making an almost last-minute stand.

From the Rhode Island Republican Party:

Federal and State Candidates seeking office in Rhode Island will be holding a Press Conference this Monday, October 27, 2008 at 11:00am outside the State House. This week it was announced Rhode Island ranks highest in unemployment in the entire United States. The Candidates will discuss this problem, as well as solutions for job growth, which includes creating new jobs through fostering a more business friendly environment in Rhode Island. This Press Conference is open to the public, and the media is asked and encouraged to attend.  All candidates participating will have media availability immediately following the event.   

Candidates confirmed to appear: Congressional Candidates Jonathan Scott and Mark Zaccaria, RI Senate Candidates Marc Coda and Sean Gately, and RI Representative Candidates Dr. David Anderson, Erika Atwell, Robert  Paquin III and Daniel Reilly among others.
