Lynch shines in Taubman tea leaves

Given all the controversy that washes up on the front door of the AG's office, who'd have thought that Patrick Lynch would be alone among Rhode Island's general officers in having an approval rating (52.1) that's over the 50 percent mark?
Lynch's rating is relatively consistent from when I last looked at his budding gubernatorial campaign. The other active gubernatorial hopeful, General Treasuer Frank Caprio, is the only other general officer whose approval rating cracks the 40 percent mark (just barely, at 40.3). With a job that generally keeps out of the limelight, Caprio's favorability can be expected to grow with advertising and free press.
Matt notes that Governor Carcieri (approval rating: 39.3) has a new high in his disapproval rating.
And LG Elizabeth Roberts and SoS Ralph Mollis bring up the rear, each with favorability of about 24 percent.
Meanwhile, David Cicilline has a solid 46 percent approval rating, although you have to wonder whether continued negative publicity from his brother, among other factors, may dissuade the mayor from pursuing a gubernatorial run.
