Super Tuesday preview on Newsmakers
With the four leading presidential candidates -- Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama for the Dems, and John McCain and Mitt Romney for the Republicans, set for a potential day of reckoning on Tuesday, Super Tuesday is the prime topic this week for WPRI/WNAC-TV's Newsmakers. A supporter of each candidate joined Steve Aveson and myself this morning to talk up their favorite presidential contender. (We also get their Super Bowl predictions.)
For Obama, it's Providence City Solicitor Joseph M. Fernandez, who went to Harvard Law School with the candidate.
For Clinton, it's state Representative David Caprio (D-Narragansett), prince of the Caprio political clan.
For McCain, who else but House Minority Leader Bob Watson (R-East Greenwich), whose support for the Arizona senator goes back to previous election cycles.
And for Romney, it's state Representative Joe Trillo (R-Warwick), who offered his typically energetic style.
The show will be broadcast Sunday, at 5:30 AM on Channel 12 and at 10 AM on Fox 64. We had a very lively discussion, so check it out.
