Dubious subhed of the day

"Deval Patrick said today he is also ruling out serving as Barack Obama's running mate should Obama win the Democratic nomination."

That's from a new AP story in which Patrick says he wouldn't leave the governorship to join an Obama cabinet.

The second point is interesting. The first is utterly absurd.

Still no word on whether Patrick would play for the Red Sox if offered a contract.
