What is WFNX? WFNX is more than just a radio station!

WFNX is a lifestyle. Our listeners are a young, tech-savvy, group of individuals connected to what’s going on in the music world, and to their peers. In 2011, WFNX put on over twenty free shows. Free, F-R-E-E. We’ve shut down Lansdowne Street, skied the mountains of New Hampshire, rocked the MFA, and packed the Paradise, and we couldn’t do any of this if we didn’t have such a loyal, enthusiastic listener base. Like us, our listeners are out seeing shows, sharing music with friends, and keeping up on the hottest trends around the city. An ‘FNX listener isn’t going to be sitting on their couch watching the world happen, they are part of the scene, on-the go, and out taking part in the Boston culture, making it happen.

WFNX is alternative. WFNX is the alternative station in Boston, and New England. Unlike other stations, we are connected to our listeners outside of just the traditional radio. We have a mobile website, online streaming, and smartphone apps – not to mention we are active on four different social media sites. WFNX challenges the generic, bland and mundane. Why be like everyone else?

WFNX is Boston. WFNX takes pride in its Boston heritage. We eat, sleep, and breathe Boston. Every Sunday we feature a local music show, Boston Accents, which plays the hottest music from the local music scene and keeps you up to date with Boston area music news. We can be found in local venues – dive bars, to night clubs, to arenas—any given night at the week and you may have even seen one of our fleet vehicles cruising the streets. WFNX is out in and around the city, engaging with local people and companies. WFNX is Boston.
