It's intended to be sexist.

The women in the story are not happy with their roles as baby factories. They abhor it. They view the breeding farm staff and the Gears as misogynist rapists. They do not enjoy being sex objects.

The reason no one really cares is because the COG is fucking backwards socially speaking, which is no suprise considering that they're based on the Nazis. They use threats of rape to recruit women into the military for fuck's sake!

War - as much as I loathe it - is history in the making, and saying that women don't belong in warfare is tantamount to saying that they do not deserve to be the authors of their own lives. That is fundamentally repulsive.

None of you keyboard warriors know what real warfare is all about. It's not fun, and it's not exciting. It isn't Hollywood, and it certainly isn't a video game. About ninety-nine percent of actual modern warfare consists of:

1) Mind-numbing grunt work. Do you think supply trucks load themselves? How do the missiles get onto a fighter jet's wing pylons? Who cooks and cleans?

2) Endless treks through one barren waste after another, hoping that you don't get ambushed.

3) Sitting around sweating your fucking ass off in full body armor, wondering when the next wave of mortar rounds is going to hit, or if your best buddy is going to get blown up by a roadside bomb while on patrol.

4) Trying to stabilize a patient that is missing half of his head.

5) Oh, look. A five-year-old girl's corpse, riddled with shrapnel. Looks like her eyeball's hanging out of its socket. Brilliant. Was that our fire that did that, or theirs? You don't know. You've stopped caring, actually.

6) Seeing some muzzle flashes a few hundred yards away. Shooting back and hitting nothing even after expending over a hundred rounds. Call in an airstrike. Watch the fireworks. Rinse, repeat until your Humvee gets blown up by an IED and you're in a medevac C-130. Maybe you can hang out with the cockroaches at Walter Reed. Teach them some tricks.

7) Pulling silly pranks on each other to ease the boredom and oppressive monotony of it all.

8) Gun jams in a firefight. Re-seat the magazine, cycle the action, pull the trigger. Still not working. Take the magazine out. Pull the charging handle and try to shake out any brass that might be stuck in the chamber. Oops, looks like it's lodged in there tight. Won't feed another round, won't extract the spent cartridge case even though you've pulled the charging handle a billion times. Going to need to take it apart or ram it out with a cleaning rod or something. There are still rounds hitting the berm right in front of you, and your gun is non-functional. Aren't you glad you're wearing desert camo to cover up the poop stains? Oh, that's right. You're actually wearing that greyish ACU digital shit that doesn't work. Everyone's going to see it when you lose the contents of your bowels.

9) All your equipment was made by the lowest bidder. Literally.

10) Oh no, another one of the little local rugrats wants some of your [put essential supplies here]. What do you do?

It's not fun. It's not cool. It's extremely banal.

Furthermore, you people rambling on about how women are physically incapable of taking part in war need to read up on your history. What about female Soviet snipers, or British SOE agents, or pilots? Are you going to just pretend they never existed? That their service meant nothing? Shame on you.

Lyudmila Pavlichenko killed over 300 Nazis with her bolt-action rifle. Nancy Wake - a New Zealander who led a massive French resistance group - strangled an SS sentry to death with her bare hands, and biked three hundred freakin' miles nonstop to replace radio codes that had been compromised in a raid. If you think women can't fight in wars or lack the physical or mental mettle for it, then fuck you. You're wrong.

That said, there are a number of reasons why women aren't in front-line combat positions today:

1) Nine out of ten times, a man will risk his life unnecessarily to save a female squad member if he sees her take a bullet. In other words, it's the GUYS who get emotional when they see women hurt or dying.

2) Supply chain/logistics issues. Requires special hygiene products. Difficult to standardize one-size-fits-all gear that will fit both sexes comfortably. Added expenses involved.

3) Lower upper body strength on average. Just because women are weaker on average, however, you shouldn't take that to mean that they are incapable of becoming any stronger than they are by default. Virtually any woman in good health can, with sufficient training, lift you or I above their head with alarming ease. I'm 220 pounds of solid muscle, so that's saying something. Individual members of both sexes are easily capable of surpassing a threshold where their strength exceeds that of 99% of the rest of the world's population. It doesn't take very much effort to be part of that top seventy million or so.

4) Increased chance of physical and/or sexual abuse, by both friend and foe. I think a lot of folks out there haven't really got the memo; apparently, some people are still under the delusion that humans are in some special class all our own, separate and distinct from other animals due to our highly sophisticated civilization. No. We're creepy, hairless apes that walk on two legs. Base aggression and hormone-driven psychosis is our calling card, and governments exist only to regulate the inevitable side effects of this inconvenient truth. It is essential to factor this little detail into your overall picture of human social patterns. Why, war itself is merely an artifact of this phenomenon.

5) Possibility of evading combat duty by getting pregnant, be it intentionally or... unintentionally.

In the end, it mostly boils down to money. It is simply more cost-effective to field male soldiers, and you know how the GAO is about saving the taxpayers some bread.

Quite frankly, I can't see why anyone - male or female - would want to partake in war. It's not a game. It's not a test of one's manhood. It's just plain shit, and it's not worth anyone's time. Not mine, not yours, and certainly not theirs. Women, I mean.

That said, if any person belonging to either sex wishes to take on those sorts of responsibilities, I don't feel that anyone has a right to stop them.

It's a game about war with gigantic, buff alien creatures. We need physically fit men with big muscles to fight them. I mean COME ON. A woman with arms thinner than my forearms is not going to hit a locust or punch it's face in, it's just not going to happen. The locust will laugh at her and snap her neck. And with the recoil on the guns, (That even the men experience) they are more likely to snap their wrists than be able to fire them. I hate how all of the feminists are bitching about this shit and trying to put girls in the game. Deal with it. It's a war game. If a woman is going to be in it, she should look like a total butch, because only a woman with muscles could keep up with men with muscles.

I was one of the Bronies at this Pony Fair. I was there for about 5 hours. I talked with a lot of really nice people and had a lot of fun seeing all of the fans in one place.

Thank you as well for not vilifying Bronies like so many other media outlets have done. We love the show. Good art, great voice acting and real character development. Throw in some Broadway inspired musical numbers and it makes it 20% cooler for everyone. :)
