You know, James Gunn, for a man who writes for the horror genre, you sure don't seem to know much about your target demographic. Did you know that more women buy tickets to horror movies than men? So, when you say, "who doesn't want to have a beautiful, young, 18-year-old cheerleader with lots of up-skirt shots in the middle of zombie carnage?", I feel compelled to answer you.

I've opened so many doors since I picked up this game.

No one is playing Hunted: The Demon's Forge. No one has heard of Hunted: The Demon's Forge. It's a forgettable, poorly made co-op game that tries to put a Gears of War-inspired cover system in a fantasy RPG. I have nothing but pity for anyone who bought and played Hunted: The Demon's Forge.

It's been a long, arduous 14 years since the aptly-named Duke Nukem Forever was first announced, but congratulations, we've made it! After nearly a decade and a half in the development cycle, Gearbox Studios finally released the game last week... and it was totally not worth the wait.

Two weekends ago, the Phoenix made the trek up to Funspot in Laconia, NH, for a day of retro gaming at the International Classic Video Game Tournament at the American Classic Arcade Museum (which you may remember from indie doc The King of Kong). Duke Nukem Forever seems to be in a perpetual state of controversy.

In many role-playing games, townspeople instantly recognize you as a hero, even if they don't know you. It can be nice, living in a world where everybody thinks you're the coolest and needs your help -- but Dragon Age 2 takes it a little too far.

Following the trail of cute was like a secret pass to the best games of PAX. From the tiny undead samurai of Skulls of the Shogun, to the chipmunk-headed weirdos of Slam Bolt Scrappers, we got a showcase of everything indie and quirky and new by avoiding the overblown ad budgets of the center floor. Our best stop, however, was to Warp, tucked away in a corner of the convention floor.

So PAX East has come and gone -- and left behind a trail of broken hearts. One has only to check out the "Missed Connections" section of Craigslist to sense the palpable longing of nerds who almost -- but didn't -- get laid.
