Comic Con 2011 begins today in San Diego, as if every nerd were not already painfully (or joyfully, if attending) aware. Laser Orgy is here to rub salt into the wound by reminding our readers and ourselves of all the amazing things we are missing.
OK, so this is yesterday's news, but dang, I'm excited. Joss Whedon! Neil Patrick Harris! Glee! Talk about a triple threat.
The announcement comes just in time, in my opinion. Glee's been suffering from Sloppy Second Season Syndrome. OK, I made that term up, but 30 Rock and Lost suffered the same (plus, Overthinking It shares my position on this season, and we all know they are never wrong about anything).
Ever since "Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog" went
viral two years ago, Joss Whedon fans have been clamoring for one
thing: to see this musical tragicomedy transformed into a Nintendo game
circa 1986. Or maybe that's just us. In any case, Doctor Octoroc -- an 8-bit masher-upper who specializes in retro-video-game-inspired art and music -- has made our dream a reality.
Rumors have been flying for a while about this, and we did mention those ratings slipping -- but now it's final. Joss Whedon's sci-fi series Dollhouse has been cancelled.
At least Dollhouse won't have to go the way of Firefly, which got cancelled mid-season, leading Whedon to attempt to wrap up a plethora of loose ends in a film.
The Venture Brothers season 4 premiere aired last night, and dorky followers rejoiced. Expectations were too maniacally high to be surpassed, but they were definitely met. If you weren’t waiting all summer to watch this as soon as it aired, get your fix here. Warning: Venture Brothers may cause disorientation if you aren’t caught up on your episodes -- so, get caught up.
