The League of Young Voters held their annual Step Up to the Plate Awards party on Saturday, and we're proud to list the winners here for your enjoyment:

Activist/Community Organizer: Katy Jayne

Katy began working as a full-time organizer on the Marriage Campaign for the Maine Civil Liberties Union in September of 2008.

The League (you know, the formerly young, even more formerly pissed off, still voters) is hosting their annual Step Up to the Plate awards on Saturday at SPACE Gallery. (Yes, we at the Phoenix are sponsoring it, too.)

It's from 7:30 to 11 pm, and admission is $15, which benefits the League's education fund. It's all about celebrating young, community-minded, involved people in Portland. Show them some love and be there to support them!
