C'mon progressives - get your math together #mepolitics

This was the headline on this morning's press release from Maine's Majority (the 61% people):

Maine's Majority members to deliver 7̶4̶ 73 pocket calculators to LePage and legislative Republicans

Turns out they were trying to be clever about the fact that Republican Senator Tom Saviello has sponsored a bill to raise taxes on wealthy Mainers, so he (the joke goes) doesn't need a pocket calculator. So instead of 74, they're giving out 73 calculator.

This sort of dumb, consumerist publicity stunt doesn't deserve much credence anyway, failing as it does to make achieve what Maine's majority (lowercase "m") really wants: an improvement in our polarized, personal-insult-making political environment. But when the numbnuts who plan this sort of charade can't even get their own numbers right when making a joke about getting numbers right, I just want to give up.
