UPDATE: Ship sinks | Patched-together ship abandoned at sea

RawFaith, the ship that was moored in Portland harbor for a while a year or so ago, while its owner tried to keep raising money to keep building it, has been abandoned 100 miles off Cape Cod, after its owner and one crew member radioed for help from the Coast Guard. Here are the Coast Guard announcements about it - the latest, and the initial call. Apparently the two men were trying to sail the thing to Bermuda in the winter. The fate of the vessel itself is still TBD.

UPDATE: It sank this morning. Coast Guard photo of its mast slipping beneath the waves is here.
