MISSING - Les Paul guitar

The 1972 Les Paul Gold Top guitar owned by Matt Robbins of King Memphis has been stolen, along with the original black Gibson case, the original owner's manual in the case pocket, and a receipt from 1975 for the purchase of the guitar by its previous owner from Starbird Music on Forest Avenue in Portland.

The guitar was stolen from Robbins's car, parked near his workplace, right next to the courthouse and a block from the Portland police station.

A distinguishing feature of the guitar is a small, round white plastic cover between the volume and tone knobs, in place of a mini-switch Robbins removed. The guitar has two Seymour Duncan P-90s and replacement tuners of original type (pearloid with chrome).

The guitar's serial number is 966218-U.

Anyone with any information is asked to contact the Portland Police Department at 207.874.8300, referencing Report 06-1202, or call Robbins at 207.773.5622 or 207.653.8686.

For photos of the guitar being artfully caressed by Robbins, see the King Memphis Web site.
