Where Health Care Goes To Become Law

Let me start by saying that health care cost containment is a complex, difficult issue to tackle, and I have reason to believe that many people in and around the statehouse have been working seriously and diligently on hashing through it all to construct a workable, effective law with limited negative consequences and likelihood of passage.

That said....

Look, this thing is going to get hammered out in secret committee where the house and senate versions will be "reconciled" in the fast-approaching final week of the two-year session into a take-it-or-leave-it don't-ask-too-many-questions bill for the two chambers to quickly pass and send to the governor while everybody's on the Cape and Islands.

The rest is theater.

Anyone disagree?
