Today's Massachusetts Papers, 4/28
Everyone's dissecting last night's big House voteto add a sales tax increase to the state budget. Methuen Mayor William Manzi (hey Bill, you keeping the weight off since besting Sullivan in that diet contest?) calls the sales tax increase a "job killer" in the Eagle Tribune. Elsewhere:
--Has the swine flu invaded Lowell? The Sun asks you not to panic, but... could be.
--Fitchburg is still trying to pay for the cleanup from that awful ice storm, the Sentinel & Enterprise reports.
--That 16-year-old girl killed in Brockton lay dying on the street for 20 minutes because ambulances were on other calls, the Enterprise writes. Should we read this as a cautionary tale about budget cuts, or is this an example of poor city management? Either way, it's absolutely unacceptable.
--It's official: Marshfield man's recovery was a miracle.
