Gays Gaining In Polls
A new Field Poll finds alread-low support for the California gay-marriage ban sinking further. Only 38% say they intend to vote for Proposition 8, reversing the newfound legality of same-sex marriage in the state, with 55% opposed and 7% undecided.
Meanwhile, a Florida ballot question seeking a constitutional ban on gay marriage (and civil unions) in that state is close but currently short of the 60% required for passage. A recent poll shows 55% support, 41% opposed, and just 4% undecided. That's a three point drop in support since the last poll, taken in June.
