Obama Becomes President With Call for "New Era of Responsibility"
The scene was stunning and the moment moving as Barack Obama became president before a crowd of millions. The speech was perfect in tone -- uplifting yet tough, optimistic yet realistic. It was the most memorable such speech in a generation.
Still, in historical terms, it wasn't quite as good as the greatest addresses in history -- FDR's first inaugural, Lincoln's second, or JFK's.
