Jim Gilmore Gets Out of the GOP Race

    Former Virginia governor Jim Gilmore is withdrawing from the Republican race -- the first of what will likely be many to drop out before a vote is cast.
    To be honest, his campaign never really did much, so there's no Gilmore support to drift somewhere else. Still, as a candidate who did nothing, it's the guess here that he'll eventually end up endorsing another candidate who's made an art form out of not doing much of anything either -- the estimable Arthur Branch, aka Fred Thompson.
