FIRST LOOK: Boston Ballet unveils new costumes for Mikko Nissinen's The Nutcracker

This morning at 11, the Boston Ballet will give the press its first look at the all-new costumes and sets for the BB's re-vamped The Nutcracker.

But last month they let us behind the scenes to photograph the in-progress designs in the costume shop. Here's a taste of what we saw. Stay tuned for more from today's big reveal. And we'll have more behind-the-curtain shots in our Thanksgiving issue, where we'll be revisiting and remixing what is arguably Boston's most-treasured holiday tradition of all time (not to mention the cash cow that allows the Clarendon crew to operate year-round).
