Welcome to "Meet the Mayor," a segment in which we interview local Foursquare Mayors in
their natural habitats.
The War on Christmas:
liberal conspiracy, or figment of conservative imagination?I don't like it. I guess there was some senator - I can't remember
what state it was, but they had the big lighting of the tree at the state
house, and he called it a holiday tree. It's a Christmas tree! You're not going
to say, "This is a holiday menorah," if you're lighting a menorah.
I have a holiday
menorah at my apartment.Do you have red and green lights on it, just to be really
... Kind of. Yeah.I mean, to each their own. I just don't like not being able
to say "Merry Christmas" or "Happy Hanukkah" or "Happy Kwanzaa."
of Christmas: how awesome is it?It's awesome and horrible at the same time. It's nice
walking through Newbury Street
in the Christmas season, when all the stores are decorated. On Christmas Day, I
don't really care about the presents. I just want to be with people who are
important to me. However, I do like getting things. And I do love Christmas
movies. I watched The Muppet Christmas
Carol last night. It's amazing.
