Joyeux Fête Nationale! [That's "Happy Bastille Day" to you non-French speaking plebians] Let's party!

What percentage of Boston is French? Three percent? No matter, on Bastille Day, everyone's a Frenchman. As such, there are plenty of soirées going down around town to let us ‘Mericans do what we do best: hijack other country's holidays and use them as excuses to stuff our faces and get roaring drunk.

PARTY
Here's where the roaring drunk part comes in....

Bastille Day Celebration at the Beehive | Tonight at 5 pm

The 'Hive's kitchen is serving up food with a French touch tonight (dinner from 5:30- 9 pm) with tuna nicoise, steak frites, and more. The Chicken Thieves backdrop the meal with some French gypsy jazz. After the kitchen closes, DJ Kamal is set to spin French house music until close. Reservations recommended.

Wolf's 18th Bastille Day A-Go-Go at T.T. the Bear's | Friday, July 15 at 8:30 pm

Shaun Wolf Wortis is at it again. Big line-up this year, with special guests including Jed Parish, Holly Brewer (of HUMANWINE), AdFrank, Mick Mondo, and Jordan Valentine & the Sunday Saints (they'll be playing an old-time R&B revue.) Tickets are just $10.

French Cultural Center's 36th Annual Bastille Day Party | Friday, July 15 at 6 pm

They're blocking off Marlborough Street (in the Back Bay) tomorrow night to make room for as much Francophilic revelry as possible.  Rupa And The April Fishes and Yoro Ndiaye provide the tunes and local restaurants will be serving up French noshes and booze. General admission is $28, the street party is going down rain or shine (let's hope for shine.)

Bastille Day Block Party in Harvard Square | Sunday, July 17 at 3 pm

Boston's only free Bastille Day party is on Holyoke Street this Sunday. The day's festivities include high-end French street food from Sandrine’s Bistro and other Harvard Square joints, live music (French techno-music and a light show after dark,) the annual traditional waiters’ race, French inspired henna tattoo art (a concept that seems sort of...confused,) and an international beer garden. Woot woot. All for the bargain price of absolutely nothing.

EAT
And here are the opportunities for face stuffing....

Bistro du Midi | Tonight, kitchen open until 11 pm

Special menu includes Pan Roasted Skate, Barigoule Artichokes, Polenta, Beurre Noisette, and more. Prices range from $45-$52

Sel de la Terre | Tonight, kitchen open until 10 pm

Special prix fixe dinner includes Fisherman's Bouillabaisse, steak tartare, chilled vichyssoise, and more. $45 per person.

Pigalle Boston Bastille Day Dinner | Tonight, kitchen open until 10 pm

Special prix fixe dinner includes Salmon Niçoise, Crispy Suckling Pig, and Pork Sausage Sliders. Live music. $50 per person.

Don't feel like shelling out the dough for a gourmet prix fixe meal? There are French restaurants all over this city where you can order whatever you want, and still feel festive. Vive la France!
