Meet the Mayor: Lizard Lounge

Welcome to "Meet the Mayor," a segment in which we interview local Foursquare Mayors in their natural habitats.

Lizard Lounge
Ali Nikseresht

Explain what just happened.
I overheard you say, "I'm here to interview the mayor of Lizard Lounge." I turned around and said, "I am the mayor of Lizard Lounge!"

Is that the freakiest thing that's ever happened to you here?
Uh, I guess? Not a lot of freaky things happen at Lizard Lounge, but a lot of great things happen. Session Americana, for example. They've brought in awesome guests like Peter Wolf from the J. Geils Band. Seeing a show at Lizard Lounge ... It's kind of like seeing a show at somebody's basement. The connection with the music is better than almost any venue in the city.

You're also mayor of Toad. What's with all these amphibians and lizards or what-have-you?
Uh, I don't know. Lizard Lounge and Toad have a mutual owner. I guess you'd have to ask him.

Do you suspect this owner to be some sort of lizard himself?
He may very well be a lizard person. He may very well be trying to populate the world with lizard people.

... Through Americana music?
Yes.

Why aren't we terrified?
Because the music sounds so good, you can't help but dance. At least I can't.
