Tonight: The Slutcracker returns to the Somerville Theater

The best thing to happen to the holidays in Boston since Boston Ballet got kicked out of the Wang? That'd be THE SLUTCRACKER, Babes in Boinkland's instant-classic burlesque retelling of the classic Christmas ballet. We went apeshit for it when it debuted last year, and so did everyone else -- the production sold out its opening weekend and had to add extra shows. This year, we expect it'll be even bigger --at least as big as the 10-foot candycane dildo that provides the evening's biggest pop-off.

With word-of-mouth buzz still smoldering from last year, and Amanda Palmer giving away tickets on Twitter, we recommend getting your tickets early.  They've expanded to eight shows over two weekends: December 10-13 and 17-20, again at the Somerville Theatre in Davis Square.

For a recap of last year's shenanigans, check out the video, or see pix from the show's "undressed" rehearsal, or read our interview with Slutcracker creator Sugar Dish
