U.S. District Judge Denny Chin agreed entirely with our poll results...well, almost. Bernie was sentenced to the maximum 150-year prison-sentence back on June 29 and today Bernie arrived at the federal prison in Butner, North Carolina, to begin serving his long-ass sentence. Madoff is not appealing the sentence. For once, he's doing the noble thing and accepting his punishment.

Just how much money did Bernie take? According to news reports from Reuters and more, prosecutors claimed $170 billion flowed through Madoff's account over the decades, and there was a total of $65 billion in accounts just weeks before his arrest in December.

His wife struck a deal with federal prosecutors to let her keep $2.5 million in cash and her freedom, according to Wall Street Journal.
