TONIGHT: "Throwed" bids farewell to Bill's Bar
We've been unable to confirm anything related to the imminent closing of Bill's Bar, but this appears to be the joint's last stand. Word on the street that tonight's edition of "THROWED" was allowed to remain on the docket only because the promoters had booked Italian electro-rave sensations the BLOODY BEETROOTS three months in advance. In the '90s, Bill's appointed itself the "Bastard Child of Lansdowne Street" -- but it lived long enough to see its bitchier, glammier, big-sister clubs meet the wrecking ball.
If tonight is indeed Bill's last stand, well, there are worse ways to go out. We'd have picked some old-school Bill's band like Roadsaw, for old time's sake. On the upside, we doubt THROWED's young hipsters will be nostalgic enough to rip out the barstools the way Rat die-hards did a decade ago.
