Watchmen: The Saturday Morning Cartoon

It's Watchmen-mania this week, not only here but everywhere. For our part, we've got a review, an interview with the director, and from our archives, an appreciation of the graphic novel and an interview with its legendary, reclusive author, Alan Moore.

Above, take a look at a pitch-perfect opening from a fictional saturday-morning cartoon in the style of such shows as Thundercats and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, complete with plenty of clever easter-egg style in-jokes for fans of the comic (I would list them, but I don't want to risk spoiling anything.) I'm not sure if this is viral marketing or the work of a truly inspired YouTube auteur, but either way it works perfect as both a parody of the genre and the way Hollywood types tend to get these things very, very wrong.
