Jon Stewart Having 'Exploratory' Talks With NBC

Jon Stewart’s Daily Show contract expires in 2008, and TV-land gossiphounds are now reporting that he has been schmoozed in “exploratory” talks by the bigwigs at NBC, who are looking to cash in on the man whose raised eyebrow can elicit more belly-laughs than an entire week’s worth of The Peacock’s primetime comedy. Gird yourself for a lot of wild speculation, the Big Three falling all over each other to woo him, Comedy Central eventually raking the scratch together and making Stewart an offer he can’t refuse, and Craig Kilborne crying himself to sleep every night.
