See these films: Batman Begins + The Dark Knight + midnight screening of The Dark Knight Rises

Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight Rises might be the biggest blockbuster this summer. What better way to usher in the triumphant final installment in Nolan's Batman trilogy than by watching the first two? The Somerville Theatre obliges tomorrow night by screening Batman Begins (2005; 6 pm), which relates how billionaire playboy Bruce Wayne (Christian Bale) became the conflicted Caped Crusader, and The Dark Knight (2009; 9 pm), in which Bale's second appearance as Batman is eclipsed by the late Heath Ledger's antic, nihilistic performance as the Joker. And then your waiting will be over, when the new film screens at midnight.

Somerville Theatre, 55 Davis Square, Somerville | Thursday, July 19 |  $8; $5 seniors |
