See this film retrospective: Seeing Is Believing: The Non-Fictions Of Errol Morris @ the Brattle

Nobody dances the fine line between truth and fiction as skillfully as the filmmaker celebrated in the Brattle retrospective Seeing Is Believing: The Non-Fictions Of Errol Morris. The series starts with what might be Morris's most famous film, The Thin Blue Line (1988), in which he employs his "non-fiction" skills to establish the truth: that Randall Dale Adams was not guilty of the murder for which a Texas court had sentenced him to death. As a result of the film, Adams was exonerated and set free. Thin Blue is a great complement to Morris's pal Werner Herzog's latest film, Into the Abyss. The retrospect runs through December 1, with Morris in person on November 30 to talk about his new book, Believing Is Seeing: Observations on the Mysteries of Photography at the Brattle Theatre, 40 Brattle St, Cambridge | Sunday, November 27 @ 5 + 7:15 + 9:30 pm | $9.75; $7.75 students; $6.75 seniors | 617.876.6837 or brattlefilm.org.
