See this film series: International Festival of Films on Art @ the MFA

For 29 years Montreal has held an International Festival Of Films On Art and the MFA has taken advantage of this by screening the prize winners. This year the series runs through September 15 and starts today with two seemingly disparate documentaries. Marc Daniels's Comic Books Go to War (2009; 11 am) explores how comic book artists use their imagination and skills to make the horror of warfare comprehensible. Among those interviewed are Keiji Nakazawa, Joe Sacco, Marjane Satrapi, Ted Rall, Emmanuel Guibert, and Joe Kubert. Adam Low's T. S. Eliot (2009; 2:45 pm) tackles the arch Modernist and ponders his contemporary relevance. (Maybe he could start by explaining the baleful, undying popularity of Cats.) That kicks off Saturday, September 2 at the Museum of Fine Arts, 465 Huntington Ave, Boston | $8;$7 seniors, students | 617.369.3907 or mfa.org
