Film pick: Hill 24 Doesn't Answer

With its brilliant Bad Poets Society on hiatus, Channel Zero is focusing on video programming, like tonight's screening of Israel's first movie, Hill 24 Doesn't Answer (1955). Promoters claim this is one of the best foreign films you've never heard of, and it hasn't been screened in Boston in half a decade. By now, we've learned to trust Channel Zero's curators. But mainly, we're highlighting this event because if enough people show for the Israeli war film, they'll screen a feature-length documentary on Wesley Willis next. It's kind of like eating your spinach before you can have a cupcake, at the Somerville Theatre Screening Room, 55 Davis Square, Somerville | October 13 @ 8 pm | $8 | 617.625.5700 or channel0.blogspot.com.
