The support of King
It might be too late to breathe life into the
moribund "Let Me In," but as Jeffrey Wells notes on his blog "Hollywood
Elsewhere" Stephen King has chimed in calling it "the best American horror film
in 20 years." I couldn't agree more.
And why didn't the studio play up the whole
bullying theme in the movie? Seems pretty timely to me. Maybe because the
remedy suggested is a little extreme.
And to all those fans of "Let the Right One
In" who boycotted the remake because you knew for sure it was going to be a Hollywood rip-off and an offense to your sensibilities:
well done!
But why listen to me? Take King's advice: "Whether
you're a teenager or a film-lover in your 50s, you'll be knocked out. Rush to
it now. You can thank me later."
