Boston Accents 11.02.12: Weekend gig edition with Fat Creeps, the Rationales, Boom Said Thunder, Fat History Month, Gozu +++

TGIF, Boston. On today's Accents we highlighted a bunch of shows around town, playing entirely homegrown bands playing shows either tonight, tomorrow, or Sunday. We moved the goalposts twice near the end to accomodate our Boston Accents Songs of the Day and get some some Passion Pit in the mix, but they're still Boston bands playing shows, just Florida and Michigan, respectively. That counts for something. Have a great weekend; see you at Aerosmith in Allston on Monday.

FAT CREEPS “Leave Her Alone” -- [11.04] North Shore lo-fi garage rock trio nominated for Best New Band in the 2012 Boston Music Awards, and playing Great Scott on Sunday with...

DOOMSTAR “Rainbow Bloodsucker” -- [11.04] ... CreaturoS, but since we played that band'sa new jam "James Day's Milk Shake" on Wednesday, we'll go back to Noah and Spenser's previous band, which ruled just the same.

BOOM SAID THUNDER “Shadow” -- [11.03] Doing the Allston shuffle down (up?) Harvard Avenue to O'Brien's Pub, where the Boom guys and gal take on Saturday night for a killer show with Death Waltz '76, Thick Voltage, and...

SUICIDE DOLLS “Drive” -- [11.03] ...these Dolls outta Connecticut. This joint was a Phoenix Mp3 of the Week a few months ago.

GOZU “Meat Charger” -- [11.03] Headlining the Small Stone Records showcase Saturday night at Radio in Somerville, alongside fellow harder-edged Massachusetts bands Lo-Pan, Roadsaw, and Blackwolfgoat.

FAT HISTORY MONTH “Free As A Cat” -- [11.02] Playing tonight at Homegrown IV at the Cambridge Elks, a two-day event that features roughly 40 bands.

STEPHIE COPLAN & THE PEDESTRIANS “Jerk!” -- [11.02] Piano-pop princess headlining Brighton Music Hall in Allston tonight.

MISS FAIRCHILD “Soda Pop” -- [11.03] Getting a bit of soul action with Fairchild & the Boys tomorrow night at Church in the Fens.

THE RATIONALES “Radio” -- [11.04] David Mirabella of the Rats hits Radio on Sunday with Autumn Hollow Band and Wooden Sky.

AIR TRAFFIC CONTROLLER "The Work" -- [11.02] Casey Sullivan of ATC plays TT The Bear's Place in Cambridge tonight with Paddy Saul and Jabe Beyer. ATC then kicks off an East Coast tour with Bleu that extends to November 17, wrapping up that night at Great Scott.

FOUR POINT RESTRAINTS “Let The Ship Sink” -- [11.03] Getting freaky at the Dead Cats Dead Rats record release party at the Rosebud in Somerville on Saturday.

MEAN CREEK “Do You Know?” -- [11.04] The Boston Accents Song of the Day finds indie quartet Mean Creek playing the Orlando Hard Rock Cafe with Counting Crows on Sunday. Drummer Mikey Holland penned a great piece about quitting a job for rock and roll over on Ryan's Smashing Life.

PASSION PIT “Better Things” -- [11.02] Going throwback to 2009 with our electro-pop heroes, who play in Michigan tonight at a sold-out Royal Oak Music Theatre. Evs, I wanted to hear some 'Pit.

'TIL TUESDAY “Voices Carry” -- [11.03] Dear Aimee Mann is at Berklee Performance Center tomorrow night, and any chance I get to close a show out with "Voices Carry," I take advantage of. #bestsongever

Have a great weekend. Go see a show. xoM
