So listen, no one needs a shitty VH-1 clip show to inform us that this has been pretty much the Best Summer Ever. Though it's only July 9, I've had a hell of a time so far, eating mad pizza and hanging out at endless weekend pool parties. But things got a bit hairy when those two faves collided a few weeks ago up in beautiful and scenic Beverly, Massachusetts.
See, I was just chilling out at this pool party where the FAT CREEPS were drinking music and playing beers, when this fine-lookin' life-sized slice o'za sashayed onto the deck and into my hungry life. I was busy chatting up a ladyfriend of mine when she saw my hazy hazel eyes wander, drifting off into a pepperoni heaven where independent slices of pizza stand on two sexy legs and smoke Winstons out of the soft pack. I pulled down my Pradas to get a better look, then WHAPPPP!!!, I got a swift paw to the jaw.
After icing down my grill, I later approached this delicious pile of cheese n' bread because I'm the original Pizza Tracker, after all; Domino's ain't got shit on me. My friend caught a whiff of this and shoved the saucy little number right into the pool. The party raged on, but I got slapped up, and the pizza got delivered -- right into a vat of chlorine.
Lesson learned. Don't mix pizza and pool parties, especially when director Ali White is capturing it all, and the Creeps are there filming a new music video for their jam "Cherry."
Catch the Fat Creeps live this Friday at PA's Lounge in Somerville with Night Sweats and Spacebums, then again on Monday, July 16 at Charlie's Kitchen in Cambridge with Grass Is Green and Pile. The surfy rock and roll trio then opens up Night 1 of the Boston Accents Funeral Party at Great Scott on Monday, July 23 on a bill with Earthquake Party, RIBS and Viva Viva.
I'll be sure to stay away from Inbound's lovely buffalo chicken pizza across the street.
