[tonight in cambridge] Little Face @ Middle East
Matthew Kane is a busy man. The bassist/drummer for noisy North Shore alt-rock dudes POWERANIMAL has a new project, LITTLE FACE, which makes their debut tonight at the Middle East in Cambridge alongside the Indestructable North and XNY. Though they'll hit the stage as a duo, Kane recorded the entire Little Face EP, Make Out With Me,, in his garage over a two week peroid. His arsenal? "One condenser microphone, a radioshack microphone, a guitar, bass, drum kit, and couple guitar amps."
We debuted the EP's second track, "Happy Song," Sunday night on Boston Accents, and Poweranimal's sludgy "Come Out Tonight" has been in the local show's weekly rotation, best pairing up with Soccer Mom's "(A) Natural History" for a nice little aural worship to the early-'90s college radio sound.
Check out Little Face's EP, available for free download via Bandcamp, as well as that Poweranimal joint, after the embed jump.
