[awesome video alert] Letterday "Don't Go" + album release party 12.17 @ Middle East
Few things are as timeless as beating an old friend with a baseball dropped in a plastic shopping bag (or, for those more difficult, out-of-reach jobs, enlisting its fabled cousin, the 8-ball in a tube sock). But possessing more impact than a carefully-swung bag o' nickels is the reason behind the beating, and LETTERDAY'S new music video for "Don't Go" conveys true the meaning of brotherhood (and summertime boy-band hallucinations). Hey, you can't be in a rock and roll band without a little tomfoolery out in the ol' World Tour Training Facility, especially after bro'ing down to a little Mariah Carey in the whip. Playing dodgeball, practicing voodoo, and unexpectedly funneling some Fabuloso all-purpose cleaner are all just icing on the cake.
Shenanigans aside, it's good to see Letterday back in action, and we're psyched to premiere their newset video.
The pop-rock quintet took some time off recently, experiencing some brief sonic soul searching and necessary lineup rearrangements, and are now set to drop a new record Ready, next month, December 17 at the Middle East Downstairs. Look for this track to be the Mp3 of the Week in the Phoenix that week, and in the meantime, score some advance tickets to the show here.
The Blue Pages and Organ Beats join Letterday on the bill, but be warned -- if you see any stockings stuffed with icy snowballs, get your sprint on. You just might get slapped upside the head.
