WFNX's monthlong welcome-back celebration kicked off Saturday night at an Undisclosed Location -- a/k/a LANSDOWNE PUB -- for a free show with THE JOY FORMIDABLE, who were playing the final gig on this leg of their tour -- after which they take a quick break and join the FOO FIGHTERS as opening act. If only the rest of the '90s revival was this awesome -- surging sing-along choruses, crowd surfing, extended feedback suites . . . and that's just the eight-minute extended-jam version of their single "Whirring" that you can see them playing below.
