[newportfolk] Off-stage twitpics from Day 1 at Fort Adams State Park
Day 1 of NEWPORT FOLK FEST wrapped up just a few hours ago with a closing set on the main stage by the Decemberists, who failed to address our January accusation of ruining indie. But while Team PHX spent the day out in Fort Adams State Park getting folk'n baked under the summer sun, now we'll spend the next few evening hours recapping what we saw, photographed and recorded. Here's a recap/roundup of some of my better twitpics -- follow along tomorrow and we continue the charge over at twitter.com/BostonMusicBlog. Our professional photogs, ahem, will show their work of all today's performers in the coming days, so keep it locked to OTD.
Sold-out Folk Fest = longer-than-usual waits to get in. No sweat, though, we could still hear Typhoon playing on the nearby Harbor Stage.
In case ya hadn't heard.
Searching for the ultimate hackey sack.
Insane view from atop the Fort, while Gogol Bordello performed below.
Ditto.
Wandering around, watching the people.
