By now they should know better, but it’s clear Boston thrash-metal dudes RAMMING SPEED just don’t give a fuck. Since the band’s formation in 2007, previous tours have included van breakdowns in the middle of the desert; getting arrested at gunpoint in San Francisco (on suspicion of kidnapping, charges were later dropped); and having $5000 worth of band money, laptops, journals, and other shit stolen from their van before a gig in Italy. So as they defiantly set out on an eight-date Northeast tour — starting July 28 in Burlington, Vermont, hitting Gay Gardens in Allston on Saturday, and wrapping up at Starlabfest 2011 August 6 in Somerville — pardon if they don’t want to engage in your petty little Internet debates about pizza thrash vs. burrito metal. Instead, the Speed just want you to lose your mind to “Perdition,” the off-the-rails rager from their new split 7-inch with Texas’s thrash-punk boys ANS. Let’s party with them when they make it back home — hopefully in one piece. In the meantime, download “Perdition” right... now.
