Let this be a lesson to all -- you lose in the finals of the Rock And Roll Rumble and your next video will be shot on a giant 1991 Sears Roebuck solid state camcorder.
Ahh, oh well, this new SPIRIT KID video still looks rad. "The Wrong Kind Of Money" was directed by the talented Avi Paul Weinstein, apparently a stealth garage-sale hawk and the man responsible for Spirit Kid's insanely cool stop-motion video for last year's "My Imagination." The grainy-ass "stylized" live footage shown here was recorded at T.T. The Bear's during the 'Kid's spirited run to the Finals, where the pop band led by Emeen Z used a wild card nod in the prelims to advance to the semis, then won their semis night to leap to the final round. Of course, as we all know by now, John Powhida International Airport took home the money gold, and well shit, now they get to enjoy the 6:20 p.m. slot opening up for Urge Overkill at TTs on July 9. All fair in love and the Rumble.
Expect a new Spirit Kid EP in the coming months.
