Amanda Palmer dodges yet another natural disaster #WhereInTheWorldIsAFP
We're not saying AMANDA PALMER is cursed or anything, but she's developing a knack for showing up in far-flung countries that just happen to be smacked with natural disasters while she's on the ground. You may recall that, last April, she managed a harrowing escape from Iceland in the middle of the crazy ash cloud -- though her partner in EVLEYN EVELYN was not solo lucky, and the twins' Euro tour turned into an Amanda solo jaunt. (Except for the part where they managed to play together via Skype.)
Now Amanda's popped up again: this time she was an hour away from boarding her flght from Napier, New Zealand to Christchurch -- when the ground opened up and a 7.5 earthquake leveled the city. She's blogging about it today:
if we’d taken off an hour earlier we would have flown into this mess, and who knows what would have happened.
i don’t know who’s been organizing my touring on a cosmic level, but they’re doing a seriously a-plus fucking job.
we’ve managed to avoid the volcanic ashcloud, the floods in brisbane, and now a massive earthquake.
The good news for New Zealand amandaphiles: her show tomorrow in Auckland appears to be on . . . even if she has to do some twitchiking to get there.
