Before the local music community got together en masse at Sunday's Boston Music Awards, there was a sort-of pre-party for the rock scene a day earlier at T. T. The Bear's Place in Cambridge. Organized by Boston Band Crush, six acts -- as well as friends and family of the Di Guardia family -- rallied together for the Calling All Angels: Friends of Emilia benefit show, which raised money for the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. Be sure to catch up on the back story and inspiration behind the all-day show in this week's Phoenix, and in the meantime, check out some white-hot phlipcam medley action from the jangle-pop grooves of Spirit Kid and Sidewalk Driver's glam-bam-thank-you-cam rock n' roll opulence. Other performers at Calling All Angels included Bang Camaro, Stereo Telescope, Gem Club, and Casey Desmond, but the free Sailor Jerry rum being passed around like a cheap one-hitter made it tough to record everyone. Good rock, good cause, good times.
